Hi all, i wondered if anyone else has problems with hands. My right hand has become very weak and my index finger has dropped. I am right handed and have more range with my right arm than with my left but cant use my right hand so much because of wekness in my fingers. I went for my 12 months visit to the QE yesterday and the physio there is sending me to see about some sort of splint or support. The physio said she hadn't seen this problem before! How are everyone elses hands?
Yes Liz, wrists are weak but it is my index finger- it has dropped. It makes things like driving-gripping wheel-hard. It has just happened very suddenly.I also get a lot of pain in my hands and arms, my shoulders are very tense most of the time.

I'm right handed but my left hand is the strongest. Not got any dropping in my fingers but I have noticed my fingers getting weaker with writing and typing. I am often dropping things because my grip has become so weak
Always dropping things but a combination of high hopes and lack of patience lol. My grabber is now left in the car as a always seem to drop something next to the car these days.

I don't think I have too much weakening in my fingers but I have heard of someones index finger and thumb being quite badly affected before. They did wear the wrist splints but again I'm not sure how useful they were. I'll try to track the chap down .
Well, finally got to see the physio. She gave me a wrist supprt. Its ok but doesn't help with the dropped finger! At the moment its too warm to wear it and i think it will take some getting used to! She did order me some useful gadgets for the kitchen though.

I've been having problems with my hands for a while, not being able to grip things and my index finger on my right hand began to twist inwards, then a few months ago I started getting pain in my thumbs and index finger. I went to th doctors who did some blood tests and they came back with arthritis. I've been wearing a support off and on for a few months its a bit awkward wearing it but it has seemed to help. I've still got the weakness but the pains seems better, but that may be down to the warm weather.

My hands and wrists are a bit crappy to be honest and can ache after doing even slightly repetitive tasks (get your mind out of the gutter Tracyanne! ). I haven't been able to give a "thumbs up" for years and the whole hand is generally a bit weak. More recently I've been unable to press the shutter on my camera and so have had to buy a pistol-grip on instead. My fingers have always been slightly cooked, but I don't think that can be put down to the weakness.
Having said that, I've been able to develop little tricks to compensate for when I'm holding certain things like a mug or camera.
